American Regions Mathematics League
The Western Pennsylvania Math Circle and ARML Team
The Western PA Math Circle and ARML Team is a program for high school and middle school students interested in math and math competitions. At weekly practices, students learn math that isn’t normally part of the high school curriculum, focusing on problem-solving techniques. At the end of the year, we travel to the ARML competition at Penn State University.
Practices are each Sunday during the school year from 11:00am-1:30pm on CMU’s campus. Typically, we spend the first half of practice working on a problem set for a particular topic and the second half discussing solutions to the problems. In the middle, we break for food and Food for Thought (a puzzle of sorts).
